The Waverly/South Shore School Board met in special session on May 16, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in the science room of the Waverly School with the following members present: D. Strang, A. Heuer, D. Thyen and J. Buchholz.  Absent: M. Fischer.  Guests and others present: D. Jones and M. Hemmingson-business manager.

Motion by Heuer, second by Buchholz to accept agenda.  Motion carried.

Motion by Thyen, second by Heuer to accept the resignation of D. Jones as Supt/K-12 Principal.  Motion carried. 

Discussion on Superintendent search process.  Advertise for 2 weeks with the deadline set at June 2nd or 3rd.  Mr. Jones will discuss with staff regarding forming a staff committee to help with interview process.  Try to interview June 8th. 

Motion by Heuer, second by Thyen to enter into executive session at 5:55 p.m. to discuss personnel.  Motion carried.  Declared out by board chairman at 6:09 p.m.

Motion by Heuer, second by Thyen to adjourn at 6:10 p.m.  Motion carried.
